This is a photo I took of one of my fathers friends driving through the snow in his jeep. I increased the saturation and contrast of the picture multiple times to create this effect.
Here is my painting of the picture. It is successful because, obviously, it looks like the photo, but also because it employs the same texture and art elements. I decided not to as dark of a blue to make it more of my own, but also when I took a photo of it the picture makes it seem even lighter than it actually is.
